I’m sure there are quite a number of folks living aboard a yacht, sailing the seas…, here are two couples who blog about it.

Tammy and Ken learned to sail together in the San Juan Islands in 2007, and from that moment on, sailing became their passion and is now their way of life. The two have been living aboard and sailing the seas since last year and write about it on their blogs Sea Bungalow and Curiser Nation.

Kirsten and her husband, plus their two girls, also packed up their land life in 2009 and embarked on a sailing adventure. They’re sailing the seas, exploring the land, and each night they dock in a harbor, all documented on their blog Adventures with Hook, Hook, being the name of their sailboat. Also see their guest post on Daily Catch. The family is still at sea, now in the U.S. Virgin islands, and it’ll be another 12 months before they return.
Happy Weekend!
I don’t know if I could do it….but it sure sounds wonderful:)
How amazing would that be! Not sure I could it for that long though. I think I would miss land.
Off to check out their blogs!
Thanks for the links Maya, I’ll have to check those out! ~Lili
I can only applaud them! If I were at sea any length of time I think there would be a murder…
I love the water and I’m sure it would be beautiful…but, I could never do it.
How amazing! I would love to do that someday!
Thanks for posting the links to these two great sailing adventures — I’m going to check out the blogs in a few minutes
Have you heard of the Picton Castle?? It’s a tall ship based in Lunenburg, NS that sails around the world, stopping in various ports along the way. Sailors and non-sailors can sign up for the trip and learn how to sail. One of the trips was documented in the series Tall Ship Chronicles. It’s an amazing experience, but I don’t think I’d be brave enough to do it!!

Wow!! That is truly amazing!
One year, the replica of the Bounty (as in ‘Mutiny on’)that was used in the movie with Marlon Brando came to my hometown in New Brunswick. A young guy decided to join them for the rest of their trip, which I believe was to last for several month, and he was gone with the boat by the end of the day. He literally ran off to sea. I was so jealous(and still am!.
what an amazing education those girls are receiving – and the bonds they are forging as a family are invaluable! kudos to them and all the best on their continued travels.
How awesome would that be?? That would be a dream come true!!
